Noise Singapore 2012

Hi guys!, as some of you may already know,

I was selected to be apart of the Noise Singapore Showcase!

it's currently on show until 4th march!

at Ion orchard @ B4 Ion station (event hall)

I've been very excited as it's technically my first art show!

It's been an honor to be up there with the many other locally talented artist!

A little bit about Noise Singapore..

Singapore has been really supportive of the art and media industry within recent years ,

and Noise Singapore is an event held every year.

Supported by the National art council, all submitted works can be seen here

I now pledge to must copy at least 10 hands 10 heads and 10 figures from the bridge-man book, force, drawing people, and various masters + do 1 speed painting + 1 digital photo study each week this summer semester and It would be nice to hear if anyone would like to join me on this so called quest.

and if my calculations are correct. you'll be 130 heads 130 hands and 130 figure 13 digital studies and speed painting stronger :D by the end of the last week of august!

I know Micheal buffington has this drawing challenge of a 1000 various heads hands legs and figure ? I hope to eventually achieve it but towards the end of fall..

this is to get me started i guess :)

I know! it's not really an art peice or sketch but! I thought i share this with you guys..

If you are intending to take an LA class, I recommend History of Fashion with JW But take it with your Major Classmates!

It was one of the best LA Classes I've had, asides gestures and emotion :D

I might turn the back into a sketchbook since it's blank but anyway..

It was a bit of a rush, but all the planning before that paid off, special thanks to Ovetto! and hocky for tips and advise !

I had the feeling of puking the very next day but it was worth it..

Lesson learn never use super glue and then plumbers epoxy in the middle of the night tired and with no ventilation!

HELP!

So... for my head and figurative sculpture class, I'm required to do a master copy study, and 3 study of anyone i like and then combine it into one sculpture. If you reed my little notes on my drawings you can kinda figure out what I'm up to...

So i had to back track a little, with my initial idea of doing it all in water base clay, was a huge problem. For one , the bottom most piece is dried solid and it would be to brittle for the entire sculpture to stand , or sculpt all together. I only realize this going all the way to Townsend to ask if it will work, answer NO.

Solution!

Super sculpy it is.. asides touching it for fun years ago... I'm still rather clueless about!

I welcome any comments and suggestion to how the final sculpture looks or anything that may help me with the process...

I'm also wondering about my armatures, i was wondering if that armature would hold my piece, the dotted lines within the sculpture will be filled with aluminum foil, to block whatever mass that i don't need to waste too much clay in.. and then later remove it an use another type of clay to mount it on the bottom piece that's already done and by then fired, which i will paint over if i have time!

So i haven't been uploading in awhile -

here's an update on what I'll be doing, did or going to do over the summer..

I did some drawing while i was over in London, wish i had more time to just sit around and draw, but that's never the case when your traveling with people, especially family :) still wanted to spend as much time with them:)

Was at the ferry building for bills so call on site drawing class/ workshop - it was quite fun, wish i drew more.. i think i need to plug in my earpiece and draw!

And finally, this semester their holding a children drawing workshop. Its been reinstated since Barbara Bradley stopped working in the school, ( a well known cloth figure and children illustrator) may she rest in peace.

It was super fun, and the KID SO ADORABLE!! My favorite ZOEY! XD - she's my teacher's daughter, Thomas Gronbukt.

Hey guys I'm pretty much set on doing the first one,
although i was rather confused at today's color and design critic, she some how had contradicting comments that got me scratching my head the whole day,
but i just thought that the first one just had more thought process put into it.. and i would enjoy doing it more then the other one

anyway, I would love if you guys can give any critic comments or advice on my design.

I have this week and next week till i have to finalize it and start doing the color schemes for them! :) - were apparently doing this and the mood project at the same time, alternating them till the final week where both are due.. i don't really know if that's going to allow me to make it or break it, we shall see!
